need help

I have installed SQL 2005 reporting services and I configured it using
Reporting Services Configuration. Now I tried to access to report manager
using http://servername/Reports with login I used to start reporting
services. It doesn't work and keep prompting me for login and password. But
no use and I am sure this login is correct and password correct and it
started the reportings services successfully. Can anyone please help how to
solve this problem. Thanks. On Nov 4, 9:56 pm, " Miley Cyrus" <a...@.b.com> wrote:

You might want to check the Virtual Directories and see if the
permissions are set to anonymous. To do this, right-click My Computer
>> select Manage >> select Services and Applications >> Internet
Information Services >> Web Sites >> Default Web Site >> right-click
the Reports/ReportServer virtual directories >> select Properties >
select the Directory Security tab >> select the top Edit... button >>
select Anonymous access, Allow IIS to control password and Integrated
Windows authentication. Hope this helps.

In fact, it is checked already. Integrade window
authentication, digest authentication ... and basic authenitcation are
checked as well. Only .net passport atuthentication and default domain and
realm are empty. Is this this all right?

Need an easy way to replicate SQL Server Database

Dear Sir/Madam,
Hello,
I'm a MCSA and administrator of a large scale company, we have two
member server (with the same hardware configuration) that both have SQL
Server.
On one of these servers we have a SQL database that it stored more than
600,000,000 characters and everyday 700,000 characters added to it.
I really don't have information about SQL Server , Databases and how to
replicate them.
Would you please guide me that how can I easily replicate this important
database in these both servers, to have a redundant databases?
Yours Sincerely,
Ahmad Reza

Ahmad,
there are various options for redundant databases. The classical one for
your situation is not actually replication, but is log shipping. There is
plenty of information in books on line about how to set it up (quite
straightforward). To use it out of the box, you'll need enterprise edition
of sql server, but if you have standard then there are scripts on the
resource kit to do it. There are other options and in a previous post
Michael Hotek lists his selection in this order which I agree with:
1. Transactional with queued updating
2. Merge
3. Transactional
Please post up any further questions.
Regards,
Paul Ibison
|||I would suggesting looking at the information in SQL Server 2000 Books on
Line. The types of replication available in SQL Server 2000 are documented
there as well as how to set them up.

|||I would also add that the word "easy" doesn't come into play here. Is it
complicated? No. Is it complex? Yes. You need a good understanding of
what a SQL Server is, what it does, and how it operates before even
attempting replication. If you don't start there, it is a very quick route
to blowing up an environment. That is NOT due to replication. It is due to
the way that data reacts and is handled in a distributed environment that
introduces many added challenges that simply don't exist on a single
machine. If there is a way to accomplish what you need without using
replication, my strong recommendation is to use the other solution.

Nearly blank report manager/home page

Hi,
I have just installed Reporting Services for SQL Server 2005. I went through
the configuration tool and everything went smoothly. However... when I
navigate to the report manager (http://MyReportServer/reports) I see the page
OK and the header is all there (i.e. Labels like "SQL Server Reporting
Services" and "Home" and the links for Home, My Subscriptions & Help in the
top RH side) however, there are none of the usual tabs on this main page. I
expect to see "Contents" and other tabs/folders, but they are just not there.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
Andrew StanfordI'm also having this issue

It worked fine when I was logged in on the server as admin (someone from
BUILTIN\Administrators )
Opened http://localhost/reports -> Properties tab -> Noted that only the
BUILTIN\Administrators group roles -> Added users with proper roles
Hope this helps,

NDF File in a Secondary File group was lost

Hi people,
I have a big problem here. I have one database with the following
configuration:
1- Primary FileGroup - teste.mdf
2- Secondary FileGroup - teste.ndf
My trouble is: I lost my datafile that belongs to Secondary FileGroup. I
don´t need to recover my data in teste.ndf, but my database was in Suspect
State and I need to change to Online State.
What Should I do?
thanksclaudio
Do you have a last backup of your database?
Please refer to BOL for more details about how to perfom restore filegroups
and files.

question is: I need the put the database online without a secondary
filegroup. I know that SQL SERVER retain that information about the data
files in a header page in *.mdf file and in the master database. Hence my
doubt is how I do for the change that information in a header page in *.mdf?
